Hertzfrequenz
Workshop for amateur choral singers and choral conductors in the HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin
"Every choral singer has been confronted with the problem of reproducing artistic demands with vocal difficulty.. This is frustrating and vocally tiring. The workshop series "Hertzfrequenz" is aimed at all ambitious choral singers and choral conductors. Working with experienced voice trainers from Berlin’s professional choirs, the use of the voice and blending into the overall sound will be learnt and experienced. Participants will be taught how to use their voices in a skilful and technically efficient way, as the basis for the flexibility of the voice section. Different behavioural patterns for varying demands will be taught and developed." (Jörg-Peter Weigle, Professor for Choral Conducting/AcademyChorus at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin and director of the workshop)
Content
During the workshop the choral singer will be presented with different demands and possibilities for their musical, physiological and technical realisation will be explained and practised. The musical examples employed stretch from a-cappella singing through symphonic choral pieces to Sprechgesang and the demands of contemporary music. The special feature of this workshop lies in the fact that the choral conductor and the voice trainer work together with the choir and the emphasis is on tone production rather than performance. Each workshop focusses on a maximum of two elements, allowing enough time to concentrate on each

Participants
The workshop is intended for non-professional choral singers and choral conductors. They should be able to read music and have expereince of sightsinging. The course is particularly appropriate for those who wish to find their voice and develop it further. Only active participation is possible.
