Prof. Dominik Wollenweber

Birgitta Wollenweber was born near Cologne and studied piano with Prof. Renate Kretschmar-Fischer at the Academy of Music in Detmold. A DAAD scholarship enabled her to study at the Royal College of Music in London with Peter Wallfish. In 1990 she completed her postgraduate studies in Detmold with the concert exam. She attended masterclasses given by Hans Leygraf, Halina Czerny-Stefanska, Gerhard Oppitz and Bruno Leonardo Gelber. She was prizewinner in the Chopin competitions in Cologne and Darmstadt, the International Maria Canals piano competition in Barcelona and the German Music Competition. She was chosen to perform in the German Music Council's 1991 young musicians concert series. Her repertoire comprises works of all periods, as shown in her CD recordings, and she has recorded for radio and television. Professor of Piano and Chamber Music at the Academy
of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin, as well as giving masterclasses.
