German Course for Foreign Students

The Academy of Music Hanns Eisler offers its students a course in German as a foreign language. The course is intended for those students who have not yet provided the required proof of their German language skills. Two courses will be offered each semester, one for beginners (B1) and one for the more advanced (B2). Both are intensive courses taught in five weeks. The examination at the end of the B2 course provides the student with the certificate required by the Academy. Successful completion of the preparatory B1 course entitles the student to take the B2 course.

For Bachelor students who could only be enrolled temporarily, the academy offers intensive language courses in March and September (before start of term) that are obligatory for beginning Bachelor students without any knowledge of German.
