International Applicants

Before the closing dates for application, you must present evidence of the German language courses you have taken, compatible with the "Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache"(ZDaF) of the Goethe Institute.

Upon enrolment you must present proof that you have passed the "Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung" (ZMP), which can be taken in any Goethe Institute. If this proof cannot be provided, your enrolment may be postponed.

In Germany, the ZDaF and ZMP can be obtained in a Goethe Institute or at a number of other language schools. In foreign countries, as a rule, the ZDaF and ZMP can only be obtained from the local branch of the Goethe Institute.

If you require a visa to enter Germany, it is very important that you apply for a student applicant visa ("Studienbewerbervisum"). If you pass the entrance examinations for the HfM, you can have this changed in Germany into a student visa ("Studienvisum").
