Prof. Manfred Fabricius

Prof. Manfred Fabricius studied in Berlin, thereafter worked as conductor in various opera houses. Prizewinner in conducting competitions in Dresden and Budapest. Guest conductor for the radio and television company in Berlin as well as in Germany and abroad. Participated in conducting courses in Budapest and Salzburg. Besides conducting in the theatre for over ten years, he also directed several youth orchestras and taught as a freelance conducting tutor at the Karlsruhe Academy of Music and the Protestant Academy of Church Music in Halle/Saale. Since 1989 musical director of the Collegium Musicum of both the Free University and the Technical University in Berlin, with whom he performed in the Philharmonie Berlin and around Berlin as well as in France, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Poland, Austria, Kuwait. Since 2003 artistic director of the Berlin Paediatricians’ Orchestra.
1982-1984 and since 1992 freelance tutor for orchestral conducting at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin, from 2008 Honorary Professor.
