Prof. Michael Vogler

Prof. Michael Vogler was born in Leipzig and graduated with a degree in violin from the Musikhochschule Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Leipzig. Following graduation, he joined the orchestra of the Komische Oper, Berlin. In addition to his orchestral activities, he performed regularly as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles. Later, during his five years with the chamber orchestra Camerata Musica, he toured throughout Europe and America. In 1969 Vogler began to teach violin at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. He also taught courses in methodology. A dedicated teacher, he organised further education opportunities for music schools in Berlin, and he adjudicated and taught for the ESTA in Germany, Denmark, Britain and Switzerland. In 1992 Michael Vogler was appointed Professor of Violin/Art of Teaching at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. He was Vice Director of the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin to march 2007.
