The Master of Music - Composition aims at the development of skills and knowledge that will prepare students to compose musical works that will be artistically relevant in the contemporary music world.

Entrance Requirements Applicants need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Bachelor of Music in the same main subject as he/she applies for, achieved at a Conservatory/Academy of Music in Germany or in a Bologna country, with 240 ECTS or
- an equivalent degree in the same main subject he/she applies for

Main Subject CompositionComposition is a pre-screened major. All applicants must submit scores and recordings (optional) in order to be considered for an invitation to a live audition in composition.
In the entrance examination the candidates are asked to show their skills, abilities and knowledge in composition. The candidates are motivated to present their artistic personality by showing an artistic opinion, their individual potential as well as interests to the jury.
This includes:
- presentation of various own compositions of different orchestration in written scores that have to be submitted with the application documents. An additional presentation of own works via sound and visual media is optional
- a colloquium about the submitted works

Application Deadline - for the summer semester: December 15;
- for the winter semester: April 15
The application documents must have reached the academy by this date!
