Prof. Eugenia Kanthou

Prof. Eugenia Kanthou studied guitar with Prof. Karl Scheit at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and composition with Prof. Friedrich Neumann and Prof. Friedrich Cerha. Prizewinner in the International Guitar Competition "Fernando Sor" in Rome. Solo and chamber music appearances in festivals and concert series, e.g. Musikforum Gendarmenmarkt, Vienna Festival, Viennese Music Summer, Carinthian Summer in Ossiach, Vienna Guitar Festival, Marlboro Music Festival/ USA, Tibor Varga Festival in Sion/ Switzerland, Gotland Chamber Music Festival/ Sweden. Regular appearances at home and abroad with her duo "Guitar & Voice". Collaboration with duo partners such as John Humphreys, Göran Söllscher, Konrad Ragossnig. CD recordings released by Preiser Records, music editions published by Universal Edition and Doblinger, Vienna. Teacher of guitar and chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, since 1999 guest professor for guitar at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
