Prof. Karola Theill

Prof. Karola Theill, was born in Köln. Studied piano at the Academy of Music and Theatre Hamburg, with Shoshana Cohen in Jerusalem and at the Academy of the Arts Berlin. In 1987 one-year scholarship at Indiana University, School of Music in Bloomington/ USA. Took part in Lieder courses with Aribert Reimann. Concerts have included the Berlin Festival, the International May Festival Wiesbaden, the Moselle Festival, the Opéra de la Bastille/ Paris, Israel and the USA. Lieder accompanist to Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Matthias Goerne, Bettina Jensen, Carola Höhn, Klaus Häger, Thomas Mohr, Silvia Weiss, Prof. Scot Weir. Member of the chamber music ensemble "flautopiano berlin". Numerous radio recordings and CDs. Teacher in masterclasses for Lieder interpretation in Berlin, Stuttgart and Jerusalem. She is in charge of Lieder classes at the music academies in Rostock and Bremen. Since 2004 honorary professor at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
