Prof. Olaf Ott

Prof. Olaf Ott was born in Dortmund. Studied trombone with Heinz Kricke at the Academy of Music Detmold. First prize in the national "Jugend musiziert" competition in 1983. 1985-1989 principal trombone with the Duisburg Symphony Orchestra, thereafter principal trombone in the Radio Symphony orchestra. 1994-1999 trombone with the Berlin Philharmonic, since 1999 principal trombone. Member of the brass ensemble of the Berlin Philharmonic and of the international award-winning Triton Trombone Quartet. Since 2004 guest professor for trombone at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
