Master of Music

The Master of Music in the study program piano focuses intensely on the main subject and the development of a distinct personality. The consecutive Master of Music in the study program piano, by general and specialized education as well as musicology, prepares the students for a career as soloists and chamber musicians who will be able to interpret musical works individually and on a very high artistic and instrumental standard.

Entrance Requirements Applicants need to fulfill the following requirements:
- Bachelor of Music in the same main subject as he/she applies for, achieved at a Conservatory/Academy of Music in Germany or in a Bologna country, with 240 ECTS or
- an equivalent degree in the same main subject he/she applies for

Main Subject Piano Four pieces of different epochs, including
- a classical sonata with three movements
- a polyphonic piece (for example, Johan Sebastian Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier)

Preselection:
There will be a preselection before the actual entrance examination. The applicant plays two pieces chosen by the commission from the applicant's submitted program. The commission is entitled to interrupt and end the performance. If requested, a conversation with suggestions on the individual's artistic performance for the preparation of coming exams/auditions can be offered.

Admission Procedure:
In the entrance examination the applicant performs the submitted program. The admission commission is entitled to interrupt and to end the performance.

Application Deadline - for the summer semester: December 15;
- for the winter semester: April 15
