
Prof. Sanja Fister was born in Virovitica/ Croatia. Studied timpani and percussion with Prof. Edgar Guggeis and Tobias Schweda at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. Freelance musician and founder of percusemble berlin. Member of ensembles such as "Scram Free Flow" Contemporary Arts Ensemble, Höhere Gewalt Orchestra and Jo Fabian Department Theatre, with whom she has premiered works and performed concerts. Took part in numerous contemporary opera productions, e. g. Karlheinz Stockhausen’s "Michaels Jugend", der deutschenthe German premiere of Ernst Krenek’s "Glockenturm" and Boris Blacher’s "Die Flut", and in music theatre productions including Jo Fabian’s "Ten Years After". Supervised the percussion ensemble for the CD recording of Hans Werner Henze’s "Policcino" (Deutschlandradio). From 1999 part-time tutor, from 2004 guest professor for Timpani/ Percussion at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
