
Ulf Wallin, Swedish violinist, studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm and at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna. Ulf Wallin devotes himself to solo and chamber music repertoire with equal passion. Concert tours took him through Asia, Europe and the USA. As soloist, he played under the direction of Jesus Lopez Cobos, Paavo Järvi, Andrew Manze, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Walter Weller and Franz Welser-Möst. He has played in the Berlin Philharmonie, La Scala in Milan, the Théatre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Wigmore Hall and the Musikverein in Vienna. Ulf Wallin performs regularly at well-known international festivals such as the Berlin Festival, the Musiktage Mondsee, the Schubertiade in Feldkirch, the Schleswig-Holstein music festival and the Malboro Music Festival. His interest in contemporary music led him to work closely with eminent composers including Anders Eliasson, Alfred Schnittke and Rodion Shchedrin. Many radio, TV and CD recordings of Ulf Wallin exist. Until 1993 he was guest professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, in 1992 he became professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold and since 1996 he has been professor of violin at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
