The Hochschule für Musik 'Hanns Eisler' offers a consecutive Master study programme for Voice.
The Master of Music in the study programme of voice focuses intensely on the main subject and the development of a distinct personality. The consecutive Master of Music - Voice, by general and specialized education as well as musicology, prepares the students for a career as professional musicians and singers in opera, music theater and concert to be able to interpret musical works individually and on a very high artistic and vocal standard.

| Main Subject Voice | - four arias and four songs of different style, character, language and era - one aria with recitative is obligatory - for applicants older than 22 an aria by Bach, Händel or Mozart is obligatory - for international applicants one piece performed in German is obligatory - for arias of oratorios sheet music can be used - one recital (dramatic or prose, no religious works and no poems) to show artistic performance abilities (performed from memory) in German The commission is entitled to demand further artistic, musical and linguistic abilities/prerequisites Preselection: Depending on the quantity of applicants the preselections takes place on one or more days. The canidate sings a piece of his/her own choice at a notified date. Additional works can be performed as well if the commission agrees. The commission is entitled to interrupt and end a performance. Technical excersises can be demanded. The preselection commission is entitled to demand further artistic, musical and linguistic abilities/prerequisites. If requested, a conversation with suggestions on the individual's artistic performance for the preparation of coming exams/auditions can be offered. The Entrance Examination: In the entrance examination the commission choses two pieces for the candidate to sing. The commission is entitled to interrupt and end a performance. In the entrance examination the recital (dramatic or prose, no religious works and no poems) is to be performed by heart and only in German. The commission is entitled to demand further artistic, musical and linguistic abilities/prerequisites. |
