Prof. Walter Küssner

Prof. Walter Küssner was born in Münster. Viola studies with Prof. Jürgen Kussmaul in Düsseldorf, Kim Kashkashian and Michael Tree in New York. Prizewinner in international competitions e.g. 1986 in St. Louis and 1987 in Gernsbach. Member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, since 1988 of the Berlin Philharmonic. Member of chamber music ensembles such as the Philharmonic Soloists, Berlin Soloists, Philharmonic String Octet Berlin, Berlin Baroque Soloists. Worldwide tours as chamber music partner and soloist with orchestras in Japan, USA, Canada, Hungary and Spain. Masterclasses in the USA, Europe and Japan. 2001-2005 tutor in the Orchestral Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic, since 2002 guest professor for viola athe Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin, since 2005 honorary professor of the Schanghai Academy of Music.
