
Wenzel Fuchs born 1963 in Innsbruck. Early studies in Kitzbühel und Innsbruck, thereafter clarinet studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. During this time deputy with the Vienna Philharmonic. Principal clarinettist at the Vienna Volksoper, with the ORF Symphony Orchestra and since 1993 with the Berlin Philharmonic. Solo and chamber music appearances, e.g. with the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Ensemble, the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Soloists, the Philharmonic Octet and the Philharmonic Friends Vienna-Berlin. Teaching experience includes the orchestral academy of the Berlin Philharmonic, guest professorship at the Sakuyou University of Music in Okayama/Japan, honorary professorship at the Shanghai Conservatory and teacher in masterclasses around the world. Since 2008 guest professor at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin.
