Aleksandar Acev

  • Grew up in Zagreb, Croatia
  • Contemporary mime, choreographer, body language instructor and director of physical theater
  • Studies mime at the School of Applied Arts and Design in Zagreb and the Moving Academy for Performing Arts in Amsterdam
  • Scholarship from the National Endowment for the Arts, Pomona College
  • Performs with (among others) Groupe Dunes, Karina Holla, Griftheater, Wunderbaum, Theater Exit
  • Solo appearances in 15 different countries, as well as in film and television productions
  • Collaborations  with various projects, among others with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Klavier Festival Ruhr, the Lucerne Festival, the Macedonian National Theater in Skopje, the National Theater of Istria in Rijeka
  • Beginning in the early 1990s: stages school performances, develops projects that promote the social competence among the participants alongside artistic aims – UNESCO theater project for refugee children from the Balkans, educational project for the Berliner Philharmoniker, prison theater at the Tegel Correctional Facility, body language for priests at the KTU Linz

  • Since 2006: instructor in movement techniques and body language for actors at the Anton Bruckner Universität in Linz, Austria
  • Since 2009: lecturer at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin in the technical foundations of scenic instruction (body language and stage presence for singers)
