The masterclass led by Prof. Dr. Péter Nagy focuses on sonatas for piano and cello, violin or viola, as well as selected chamber music works by Beethoven and Brahms from the pianist's perspective.

With Krása, Ullmann, Koffler, Mahler, and Schoenberg, we dedicate this evening to five composers of Jewish origin. Their works were subjected to antisemitic defamation even before 1933, banned in the Third Reich, and some of them are still rarely performed today.

The Spanish violinist Cibrán Sierra Vázquez founded his string quartet Cuarteto Quiroga in 2003. This masterclass marks his first visit to the Eisler School of Music, where he will also give a lecture on "Score reading – Building an interpretation" (in English).

The students of KLANGZEITORT, the joint institute for New Music of the UdK Berlin and HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin, regularly compose for the Berliner Lautsprecherorchester. During this concert, the loudspeakers themselves become independent performers, generating sound.

The presidents and rectors of Germany's 24 music academies have elected Eisler Rector Prof. Andrea Tober as the new chair of the Rectors' Conference (RKM). She will take up the post in October.

Robert Neumann won the 14th International German Pianist Prize and the Schott Music Audience Prize at the International Piano Forum in Frankfurt. He is currently studying with Prof. Eldar Nebolsin in the concert exam programme.

Oboist Hyun Jung Song is currently completing her Konzertexamen with Prof. Dominik Wollenweber and Prof. Viola Wilmsen and, after passing her probationary period, is now a permanent member of the renowned British orchestra.

Clarinettist and Eisler graduate Liana Leßmann has been appointed professor of wind chamber music at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig. She completed her master's degree in chamber music with Prof. Martin Spangenberg with the Pacific Quintet.
