Alumna Jueun Jeong concertmaster of the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire

Eisler alumna Jueun Jeong was appointed concertmaster of the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire in France this March. The Korean violinist completed her master’s degree at Eisler, followed by a concertmaster programme under Prof. Feng Ning. Jueun Jeong is currently guest principal second violinist with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO).
At the same time, she studied chamber music with the Eden Quartet at the University of Music, Drama and Media in Hanover under Prof. Oliver Wille. With the Eden Quartet, which she co-founded whilst studying for her bachelor’s degree at the Korea National University of Arts, she was most recently awarded third prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition in 2024. As a soloist, she won 2nd prize and the Audience Prize at the ISANGYUN International Music Competition in 2021.
The Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire (ONPL) is a symphony orchestra based in the two French cities of Angers and Nantes. The orchestra is supported by the Pays de la Loire Regional Council, the French Ministry of Culture, the cities of Nantes and Angers, and the departments of Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire and La Vendée. It was formed in 1971 through the merger of the orchestra of the former Nantes Opera and the Société des concerts populaires d'Angers.
