A crucial step into the world of opera for young singers is training at an opera studio, where practical experience, artistic guidance and professional networks set the course for their future careers. In recent months, three Eisler master’s students have been accepted into international opera studios at renowned institutions: Egor Sergeev, Alla Khaiut and Jaewoung Lee. As members of these opera studios, young singers have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in the productions of major opera houses, thereby deepening their musical training.

The Russian baritone Egor Sergeev has been a member of the opera studio at the Opéra National de Bordeaux in France since the 2025/26 season. He is currently studying for his Master’s degree under Prof. Michail Lanskoi and has already completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Eisler.

The Ukrainian soprano and Master’s student Alla Khaiut, from Prof. Anna Korondi’s class, has been a student at the International Opera Academy (IOA) in Ghent, Belgium, since September 2025 and, as part of her two-year training at this institution, will also be engaged at the Opera Studio of Opera Gent during the 2026/27 season.

The South Korean bass-baritone Jaewoung Lee was accepted into the opera studio of the Stuttgart State Opera for the 2025/26 season. He has been studying for his Master’s degree at the Eisler under Prof. Thomas Quasthoff since 2023.
