Omer Ein Zvi to become First Kapellmeister in Stuttgart

At the age of 21, Israeli conductor Omer Ein Zvi successfully completed the selection process and conducting audition with the Stuttgart State Orchestra and will take up the prestigious position of First Kapellmeister and Assistant to the General Music Director from the 2026/27 season.
Omer Ein Zvi has been studying for a Bachelor’s degree at the Eisler School since October 2023, in the conducting class of Prof. Markus Stenz, as well as with Prof. Mark Stringer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
During the 2025/26 season, Omer Ein Zvi made his debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the sold-out rbb radio3 children’s concert, with the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Bern Symphony Orchestra, and returned to the Dresden Philharmonic, where he had made his German conducting debut in the 2023/24 season. His most recent engagements as an opera assistant took him to the Theater an der Wien (‘Die Fledermaus’) and the Bühnen Bern (‘Götterdämmerung’).
During his first season in Stuttgart, he will conduct performances of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and “Idomeneo”, as well as Shostakovich’s “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk”, and assist Principal Conductor Nicholas Carter with his productions. He will also make his debut with the Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra and return to the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
Omer Ein Zvi received his first conducting lessons at the age of 12, closely following the start of his training on the violin and viola. As a violist, he played in various ensembles such as the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra and the Barenboim-Said Academy Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim. He was a member and conductor of the Raanana Youth Symphony Orchestra and assisted Ariel Zuckermann, Ilan Volkov and Nicholas Carter with orchestras such as the Israel Philharmonic and Israel Chamber orchestras, Brussels Philharmonic, Stavanger Symphony as well as opera at Bühnen Bern. He attended masterclasses with Robert Spano, Mark Stringer and Johannes Schlaefli, as well as the conducting programmes at Tanglewood, Aspen and Gstaad Festivals.
