Students and alumni from the violin classes secure orchestra positions

Over the past few months, numerous auditions for positions in renowned symphony orchestras have taken place, which students and alumni from the Eisler’s violin classes have successfully secured.
David Marquard, from Prof. Ulf Wallin’s class, recently passed his probationary period for a position as a section player in the first violins of the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. He completed his junior studies, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the Eisler and is currently continuing his musical training alongside his orchestral work on the Master’s programme in concertmaster studies. Esther Frey, also a Master’s student of Prof. Ulf Wallin since 2025, succeeded in the audition for a section player position in the first violins of the Munich Philharmonic. The Portuguese violinist Mariana Espada Lopes, who completed her Master’s degree with Prof. Ulf Wallin in 2025, won a position in the second violins of the Staatskapelle Berlin.
Anne Luisa Kramb, who completed her bachelor’s degree with Prof. Antje Weithaas in 2025, has been principal of the second violins in the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) since the 2024/25 season and has since successfully completed her probationary period. The Spanish violinist Raquel Areal Martínez has been studying for her Master’s degree with Prof. Kolja Blacher and Jiyoon Lee since 2022 and, in parallel, has begun her probationary period for a position as a section player in the second violins of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Sonja Bogner, a Master’s student in Prof. Stephan Picard’s class, has secured a position as principal second violin with the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra and began her probationary period there in February 2026. Alexandra Weissbecker, who is also studying for her Master’s degree with Prof. Stephan Picard, won the audition for a position in the second violin section of the Berlin Philharmonic, and has started her probationary period.
