Successes in the harp class of Prof Sivan Magen
27-year-old master's student Woojin Lee from South Korea won the audition for the position of principal harpist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and will take up her post in September 2025. In May, she successfully won 4th prize at the renowned USA International Harp Competition in Bloomington, Indiana.
In recent months, Prof. Sivan Magen's harp class has also enjoyed a series of other successes in competitions and auditions. In November 2024, 23-year-old Belgian master's student Evelien Vaneysendeyk was awarded first prize in the ‘Professional’ category at the 35th Soka-Nippon International Harp Competition in Japan.
Johanna Dorothea Görißen, 25 years old and also a master's student, was accepted into the Hermann Levi Academy of the Bavarian State Opera in autumn 2025. She already studied for her bachelor's degree at the Eisler under former harp professor Maria Graf. Since 2023, Prof. Sivan Magen has been teaching the harp class as her successor.
