Urgent information concerning the coronavirus situation

Due to the continued rapid spread of the corona virus, we would like to inform you in the appendix about the current measures that the Senate Chancellery has taken for the Berlin academic landscape in coordination with all university management this morning.

The most important information for you at a glance:

• The beginning of the summer semester is postponed to 20 April 2020
• All events and concerts are to be canceled from now until 20 July 2020
• The university is still open and accessible to all members

State Secretary Krach emphasized that these are measures taken from today`s standpoint and could be adapted according to developments. Specifically, this refers to a possible closure of the university or a further postponement of the beginning of the semester.

The regulations regarding those returning from the affected areas or a ban on business trips to these areas continue to apply.

We would like to urge you to stay at home if you suspect or are ill and only come back to the university after the 14-day incubation period or complete recovery, i.e. if you are really healthy.

All current information on the risk areas can be found on the Robert Koch Institute website.

All current information of the Hanns Eisler School of Music will be delivered on FAQ Coronavirus
