Current measures at the school regarding the corona pandemic

 

Basic Information

  1. According to the legal requirements of the federal government and the state of Berlin, from April 1st 2022 on only basic measures for protection of the population from infections with the Corona virus SARS-CoV will apply. For the operations of the HfM Berlin, this means that most of the previous, far-reaching measures will no longer apply.
  2. The following rule continues to apply: If you have symptoms of a cold, fever, or loss of your sense of smell or taste, you are not allowed to enter the university buildings. If your COVID-19 test result is positive, you must adhere to the isolation requirements applicable in the state of Berlin.   3. The basic requirement for the on-campus operations at the HfM Berlin in the summer term 2022 is that the current infection situation in Berlin and at the HfM Berlin itself does not develop in a negative way leading to and making stricter measures necessary again.

Teaching in Summer Term 2022

1. Rules of conduct in the school buildings

  • The 3G status is no longer checked at the entrances of the school buildings.
  • Wearing of masks: There is no general obligation to wear masks in foyers and corridors of the HfM Berlin. In situations where a distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained, wearing an FFP2 mask is strongly recommended. For larger courses and public events in the halls of the HfM, an FFP2 mask must be worn. 
  • Hygiene rules:
    - Regular washing/disinfection of hands (appropriate dispensers are located in the foyers and in all toilets).
    - Regular and sufficient ventilation of the rooms.
    - Adhering to the cough and sneeze etiquette.

2. Teaching

  • Regulations depending on vaccination status do not apply to teaching in the summer term of 2022 anymore.
    • However, it is strongly recommended that all participants continue to carry out Corona tests before ensemble rehearsals, group lessons, auditions etc.
  • There are no specifications for the maximum number of people in the classrooms. However, it is strongly recommended for groups only to use sufficiently large rooms so that appropriate distances can still be maintained.
  • A sufficient and frequent ventilation of classrooms and rehearsal rooms should be continued and ventilation breaks between the individual teaching units should be substantially scheduled.
  • Keyboard instruments may only be cleaned with the cleaning utensils provided by the HfM Berlin. They will be continually available at the porters. 

3. Practice and rehearsal operation at the HfM Berlin

  • Regulations depending on vaccination status do not apply to teaching in the summer term of 2022 anymore.
  • However, it is strongly recommended that all participants continue to carry out Corona tests before ensemble rehearsals, group lessons, auditions etc.
  • There are no specifications for the maximum number of people in the classrooms. However, it is strongly recommended for groups only to use sufficiently large rooms so that appropriate distances can still be maintained.
  • A sufficient and frequent ventilation of rehearsal rooms should be continued and ventilation breaks between the individual practice units should be substantially scheduled.
  • Keyboard instruments may only be cleaned with the cleaning utensils provided by the HfM Berlin. They will be continually available at the porters. 
  • Chamber music ensembles/duos can reserve rooms for rehearsals in advance via the chamber music tutor Karolin Spegg tutor.km(at)hfm-berlin.de.

4. Public Events

  • During the summer term 2022, public events will continue to take place in Galakutschen-Saal I, in the Krönungskutschen-Saal and in the Studiosaal. In addition to the larger events that are managed by the school’s Event Management, also class evenings will take place under the responsibility of the lecturers.
  • At public events, the audience must continue to wear FFP2 masks, as to the specified distances in the audience have been repealed.
  • The possible number of seats for listeners depends on the actual seating in the halls.
  • Registration of external guests is no longer necessary.

    Entering from abroad: Quarantine and Digital Registration

    If you are entering Germany from another country and have visited a risk area in the 10 days before your arrival, then you are in general required to stay in quarantine for 10 days after entry. Please check the quarantine regulations for your federal state (Land) to see which regulations apply to you.
