Yvonne Gebauer

  • Dramaturge, born in Berlin in 1972 
  • Studied German philology, philosophy, and theology at the Freie Universität Berlin
  • Has worked in drama since 1998, in particular opera 
  • Has maintained a working relationship with the director Hans Neuenfels for more than 20 years, and engaged in long-standing collaborations with Claus Guth, Christof Loy, and Nadja Loschky
  • Has worked with directors such as Kazuko Watanabe, Johan Simons, Frank Hilbrich, Tobias Kratzer, David Hermann, and Amélie Niermeyer
  • Taught dramaturgy at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (costume class of Reinhard von der Thannen), the University of Applied Arts in Vienna (set design class of Erich Wonder), the Mozarteum in Salzburg (directing class of Amélie Niermeyer), and the Weißensee Academy of Art and Design in Berlin (set design class of Stefan Hageneier) 
  • Instructor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin
  • 2001-2008: freelancer with the Süddeutsche Zeitung, literature section
  • 2009-2018: visual dramaturge with the Bayerische Staatsoper und photo editor with the magazine Max Joseph
