Erasmus Incoming

We are pleased that you are interested in the Erasmus+ programme for an exchange at HfM.

The International Office is here to help and your contact point for questions regarding your exchange:

Please contact the International Office after your arrival in Berlin and before your departure.

Application

It is not possible to apply directly to HfM. You must apply through your own institution within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. Your International Office will then forward your complete application as a PDF to the International Office of HfM. Recording links are to be listed in the e-mail.

Application Deadline

  • 1 April for both winter semester (October start) and summer semester (April start)

  • Erasmus+ Application Form (PDF, 78 KB)
  • Learning Agreement (DOCX, 89 KB)
  • CV
  • Recordings of three works of various styles totalling approximately 30 minutes via links. Please list the links in your e-mail.
    The recording is still required if you have already auditioned or will audition for a professor.
    PLEASE NOTE: Erasmus applicants for Viola additionally need to audition during the regular audition exam.
  • Several compositions/reworkings/arrangements of varying orchestration in the form of written,fixed scores (Composition, Historical and Contemporary Compositional Technique, Electroacoustic Music)
  • Transcript of Records

Please note, incomplete applications will not be considered.

Learning Agreement

The Learning Agreement should include a listing of all the courses you would like to attend at HfM. We offer special Erasmus+ courses for:

  • Strings/Harp/Winds/Percussion
  • Piano/Guitar/Lied Interpretation for Pianists
  • Orchestral Conducting/Choral Conducting/Correpetition
  • Composition/Historical and Contemporary Compositional Technique/Electroacoustic Music
  • Voice

It is also possible to choose from our offered electives which change every semester.

Please clear any changes to your Learning Agreement directly with your home institution.

Language Requirements

  • Language of Instruction: German
  • Language Level Required: German or English, B1
  • HfM offers German language courses as electives for Erasmus+ students
