Eduard Mörike - Ein Liederfest

"Aufgeschmückt ist der Freudensaal
The Swabian lyricist and storyteller Eduard Mörike (1804-1875) inspired countless composers to set his poems to music. The composer who catapulted him to the highest peak of art song is undoubtedly Hugo Wolf. The university celebrates Mörike's poetry about idyll, suffering and passion, his spirituality, ghostly figures and his humour with a song festival. The first concert begins with his famous verses "Frühling lässt sein blaues Band...".
