Student Orientation

Student Orientation take place at the beginning of the new semester and are organised to help orientate new students.

The events organised during HfM's orientation weeks give new students the opportunity to meet relevant contact persons, lecturers, and current students, as well to enrol, ask questions, and receive important information about Hanns Eisler and their studies.

We will keep you up to date on current dates and information about the Welcome Weeks.

Personal Online Appointment for Enrolment and Student Advising

Enrolment
As from now you can book a personal online appointment for enrolment here. In the calendar you can also choose recognition of academic achievements (transfer credit points) and consultation on visa/residence permit. After your enrolment you will get your semester ticket and a Hanns Eisler welcome bag at an agreed date in the outside area of Charlottenstraße 55 in person. We look forward to meeting you!

Student Advising
After the information sessions on starting your studies on October 5 and 8 you can book an appointment for your individual student advice on this same page. We are happy to answer your questions about starting your studies, e.g. about topics such as creating your timetable, course registration and contact persons at Hanns Eisler school. All questions are welcome – we want you to have a successful start to your studies!

05th Oct. Start of Studies and Course Registration

For Master: from 11:00 a.m.

In this meeting the study advice team explains the most important steps for a successful start of studies:
Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Studying in Corona times
  • Enrolment and other bureaucratic steps
  • How to create your timetable
  • University calendar and course registration

Representatives of the mentoring team (eislerBuddies) as well as the person in charge of Asimut will introduce themselves. There is plenty of time for your questions about your studies!

In order to follow the examples well, we recommend participation via a computer/tablet.
For preparation please download your study plan. You find it under your programme under modules overview/study plan.

07 th Oct. Semester Opening

18:00 p.m.

The opening of the winter semester 2020/21 of Hanns Eisler School of Music takes place online and will be streamed here on our website.

As part of the opening the School’s Rector Ms Wedl-Wilson awards this year’s DAAD-Preis to Michaela Špačková (Bassoon).

08 th Oct. Services and contact persons at Hanns Eisler

For Bachelor and Master: from 11:00 a.m.

In this meeting the study advice team presents important services and contact persons at Hanns Eisler for different topics. Representatives of AStA (General Students Committee), of the Conflict Resolution Team and of music physiology will be there. We recommend participation via a computer/tablet. We have plenty of time for your questions about your studies.
