Berlin solo debut of Mao Fujita at the KMS of the Philharmonie

The pianist Mao Fujita recently made his debut at New York's Carnegie Hall and with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, and in January 2025 he returned to the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin for a concert under the direction of Leonidas Kavakos - a re-invitation after his stand-in debut in 2023. Now he can be heard in Berlin for the first time in a solo recital in the Philharmonie's chamber music hall on 27 February 2025.
Mao Fujita completed his master's degree with Prof. Kirill Gerstein at the Eisler in 2024 and is currently completing his Konzertexamen here. He previously studied at the conservatory in his home city of Tokyo. Numerous competition successes were followed by invitations to festivals and concerts worldwide as well as an exclusive contract with Sony Classical, and in 2023 he received an Opus Klassik as Young Artist of the Year.
‘Playing like on the motorway’ was the title of an article by BR-Klassik about his debut with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in 2024. Mao Fujita won his first international competition at the age of twelve with “The World Classic” in Taiwan.
At his piano recital in the Chamber Music Hall, Mao Fujita will perform works by Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven.
