DAAD Prize 2025 for Eléonore Rannou

The French cellist Eléonore Rannou has been awarded the DAAD Prize 2025 by the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. The bachelor student from Prof Stephan Forck's class is an outstanding and very talented musician who has a wide range of interests beyond her artistic commitment and is intensively committed to the interests of students and the school.
‘I am delighted that the choice of this year's prizewinner shines a special spotlight on something that is so important for our school community and a role model for student commitment,’ says President Prof Andrea Tober: "Commitment to our school, being prepared to go to great lengths and put personal interests aside for the good of the community. Because only together can we best succeed in creating a lively and dynamic environment in which learning, creativity and inspiration - and therefore also artistic excellence - can flourish."
23-year-old Eléonore Rannou comes from Amiens in France and has been studying at Eisler since the winter semester 2021/22. She has been Chair of the General Student Committee and the university's student parliament since November 2023. As part of the Stupa Presidium, she and her two colleagues are responsible for the internal coordination and communication of the AStA/StuPa and are also active in committees and departments such as the Women's Equal Opportunities Commission, the Bachelor/Master Commission 2, the Mentoring Team and the Extended Academic Senate (EAS).
With her university policy work, she takes on social responsibility in order to advocate the best possible study conditions and sets new accents in university life through her involvement in the team. This includes games evenings to get to know the university community as well as low-threshold counselling services for students seeking advice.
The university's DAAD Prize, which is endowed with 1,000 euros, is awarded once a year to international students for outstanding artistic achievements and social or intercultural commitment. The award is intended to help give a face to the large number of foreign students at German universities and to emphasise the mutual enrichment through international exchange.
