Kyumin Park Concertmaster of the Staatskapelle Berlin

The South Korean violinist Kyumin Park began his probationary year as concertmaster with the Staatskapelle Berlin in December 2024. He completed his master's degree at the Eisler in 2024 and then began concertmaster studies with Prof. Antje Weithaas.

Kyumin Park studied with Donald Weilerstein at the New England Conservatory for his Bachelor's and Master's degrees. He has been successful in numerous competitions, most recently as a finalist and laureate of the International Joseph Joachim Violin Competition 2024. He won 2nd prize at the International Max Rostal Competition without winning 1st prize, 2nd prize at the International Music Competition Harbin and 3rd prize at the Klein International Competition in San Francisco. He has been invited to renowned festivals such as the Kronberg Academy, the Ravinia Festival, the Holland Music Festival and Kneisel Hall, has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Cleveland Orchestra, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra and the NEC Philharmonia in Boston and has given recitals in concert halls such as the Konzerthaus Berlin. He plays a Dominicus Montagnana violin from 1740, which has been made available to him by the Kumho Asiana Cultural Foundation. A passionate chamber musician, he is a member of the Kallaci String Quartet.
