Natania Hoffman chamber music professor in Modena

The Italian-American cellist Natania Hoffman has taken up a professorship for chamber music at the ‘Vecchi-Tonelli’ Conservatory in Modena, Italy, for the winter semester 2024/25. She has previously worked as a lecturer for cello and chamber music at several Italian conservatoires, namely the Conservatoire de la Vallée d'Aoste, the ‘L. Canepa’ Conservatory in Sassari and the ‘F. Cilea’ Conservatory in Reggio Calabria. She studied at the Eisler with her trio Agora, consisting of clarinet, cello and piano, on the master's programme in chamber music with Prof. Eberhard Feltz and Prof. Martin Spangenberg.
As an internationally sought-after chamber musician, she has toured Europe, North and South America, Asia and Oceania with renowned musicians such as Giuliano Carmignola, Augustin Dumay, Joseph Kalichstein, Gilles Apap, Mihaela Martin and Boris Garlitsky. She has performed at festivals such as Open Chamber Music in Prussia Cove, the Journées de Nantes, the Ravinia Steans Institute of Music and the Encuentro de Santander. With the Trio Agora, of which she is a founding member, she received an award at the Anton Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf in 2018. The trio recorded two albums, a third album followed in 2024 with pianist Monika Dars.
She has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. In addition to her extensive concert and teaching activities, Natania Hoffman is also involved in interdisciplinary performance projects.
