Trombone class successful in auditions and competitions

The students in Prof Louise Pollock's trombone class have enjoyed an impressive series of successes at auditions and competitions in recent months. José Rosas has been engaged as a permanent member of the Royal Opera in Copenhagen in the position of alternate trombone and has already started his probationary year. João Lamela was offered an academy position in the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra and Jordi Riera Ausió a temporary contract with the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. Daniele Filippazzo was engaged on a temporary contract as bass trombonist at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari (Italy).
Emma-Lisa Björemann was accepted into the Opera Academy in Bergen (Norway) and Eline Selseth Landrø won an audition for the Ungdomssynfonikerne, the Norwegian National Youth Orchestra - the Scandinavian counterpart to the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. Alberto Poggialini Perez was accepted into the renowned Grafenegg Academy in Austria and Çağla Turhan not only won an academy position in the Staatskapelle Halle, but also a Yamaha Europe Scholarship.
Fedir Sheiko won first prize at the Hungarian Varaždin Woodwind & Brass Grand Prix. The trombone quartet ‘Iberica’, consisting of Nadia Giner Enguix, Joao Lamela, Jordi Riera and Alberto Poggialini, was awarded fifth prize at the International Chamber Music Competition in Ljubljana.
