Voice students in opera studios and academies

Several students and alumni from the Department of Voice have been accepted into opera studios and academies at renowned opera houses in recent months.

Belgian soprano and Master's graduate Louise Foor from Prof. Anna Samuil's class was offered a position in the opera studio at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, while Russian baritone Anton Beliaev from Prof. Dr Michail Lanskoi's class will be a member of the Young Ensemble at the Semperoper Dresden from the start of the 2023/24 season. The Slovenian baritone Miha Brkinjač, who also completed his Bachelor's and Master's degrees with Prof. Dr Michail Lanskoi, became a member of the opera studio at the Krefeld-Mönchengladbach Theatre. In addition, the South Korean tenor Hyun Jung Kim, currently a concert exam student of Prof Thomas Quasthoff, was accepted into the International Opera Studio of the Frankfurt Opera, the French mezzo-soprano and Master's graduate Fanny Soyer from Prof Christine Schäfer's class became an academy member at the Royal Danish Opera House in Copenhagen and the South Korean tenor Ju-Hyeok Lee, who studied for his Master's degree with Roman Trekel, and the mezzo-soprano Hyejun Kwon from Prof. Ewa Wolak's class have won positions in the NRW Opera Studio. The South Korean mezzo-soprano Youngin Lee from Prof Ewa Wolak's class was accepted into the Vienna State Opera's chorus academy.
The baritone Taehan Kim from South Korea has been studying at the Eisler with Prof Ewa Wolak and Prof Klaus Häger since this semester and has also become a member of the opera studio of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.

Moreover, the pianist Zhifeng Hu, who is currently completing her master's degree in correpetition with Prof. Alexander Vitlin at the Eisler, has been employed as a correpetitor in the opera studioof the Komische Oper Berlin.

At the opera studios and opera academies, young singers are given the opportunity to complete their training in a running theatre, are introduced to professional practice and take part in opera productions at the opera houses.
