Oboe students successful in auditions and competitions

Students from the oboe classes of Prof Viola Wilmsen and Prof Dominik Wollenweber have won various competitions and auditions in recent months. Eisler alumna Yijea Han won the audition for a position as deputy principal oboist in the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and 21-year-old Bachelor student Janos Wollenweber was accepted into the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker.

The 23-year-old master's student Ana Gavilán Quero won first prize at the Spanish music competition Concurso Nacional AFOES. Mariano Esteban Barco, also a Master's student, was awarded 1st prize at the International Gillet Fox Competition IDRS in Thailand. Oboist Hyun Jung Song, who began her Master's degree at the Eisler this winter semester, won 2nd prize at the 13th International Oboe Competition in Japan.
