Julia Muzychenko wins 3rd prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition
At the highly prestigious International Queen Elisabeth Competition - 2023 for Voice, the Russian soprano and Master's student Julia Muzychenko was awarded 3rd prize. Julia Muzychenko studies at the Eisler with Prof. Anna Samuil. The prize is endowed with 17,000 euros. The Queen Elisabeth Competition is one of the most demanding and at the same time best-known international competitions and has established itself as a springboard for outstanding careers. 412 singers had applied to take part in the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2023, 55 of them were selected by the jury for the public rounds of the competition.
Julia Muzychenko has been studying for her Master's degree with Prof. Anna Samuil since 2021, before which she studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. She is a laureate of numerous international singing competitions and most recently won 2nd prize at the Montserrat Caball Competition. She has regular engagements at major opera houses, including the roles of Norina (Don Pasquale), Nanetta (Falstaff) and Gilda (Rigoletto) at the Opéra de Montpellier and Violetta (La Traviata) at the Verdi Festival in Busseto, at the Teatro Regio di Parma, and at the Ópera de Tenerife, Musetta (La Bohème) and Papagena (Die Zauberflöte) at the Semperoper in Dresden, Oksana (Rimsky-Korsakov's Christmas Eve) at the Frankfurt Opera and Amina (La Sonnambula) in Clermont-Ferrand, Metz and Reims.
