Su-Han Yang Assistant Conductor of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra

Taiwanese conductor and Eisler graduate Su-Han Yang will start his new position as Assistant Conductor with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in Indiana, USA, in early 2023. In 2019, he completed his Master's degree at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin with Prof. Christian Ehwald and Prof. Hans-Dieter Baum. In 2018, the mentoring programme of the Peter Eötvös Foundation for Contemporary Music supported him; he also attended conducting master classes with Jun Märkl in Sapporo and Riccardo Muti's Opera Academy in Ravenna. In 2017 he won first prize in the 10th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Conducting Competition and subsequently received numerous invitations from renowned orchestras such as the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra. He has a regular collaboration with the Camerata Taiwan, with whom he has already undertaken several concert tours through Taiwan and Germany. As an opera conductor, he took part in a production of Humperdinck's "Hansel and Gretel" at the renowned National Taichung Theatre in Taiwan in 2022. He has also performed at various festivals such as the Taiwan International Festival of Arts, the Weiwuying International Music Festival, Classica Nova in Gdynia and the Asian Composers League's Conference and Festival. With the National Symphony Orchestra Taiwan, Su-Han Yang currently holds a position as Associate Conductor.
