Suyeon Lee Deputy Principal Flute of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony
The 26-year-old South Korean flautist and Eisler graduate Suyeon Lee has successfully completed her probationary year as deputy principal flautist in the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main. She studied with Prof. Benoît Fromanger at the Eisler and completed her master's degree in 2022.
Born in Seoul, South Korea, in 1997, she began her artistic training at Gyeonggi Arts High School, then studied at Yonsei University before taking up her master's degree at the Eisler in 2020. Her studies were complemented by masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Emmanuel Pahud, Dejan Gavrič, Paolo Taglione and Karl-Heinz Schütz. Suyeon Lee has won prizes at several national and international competitions, including the Osaka International Music Competition, the Dong-A Music Competition and the Joongang Music Concours. She has gained orchestral experience in the Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, the KBS Symphony Orchestra in Seoul and the Deutsche Sinfonietta, among others.
From August 2022, she was already a scholarship holder of the Orchestra Academy of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra before winning the audition for the position of deputy principal flute in November 2022.
