Jolente De Maeyer violin professor at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp

The Belgian violinist and Eisler alumna Jolente De Maeyer, who studied in the class of Prof. Stephan Picard from 2007 to 2009, was appointed professor of violin at the Royal Conservatoire Antwerp in 2021.

Jolente De Maeyer has won prizes at several international competitions, such as the Cardona Competition in Portugal, the Violin Competition Liana Issakadze in Russia (2004) and the Benjamin Britten Violin Competition in London (2005). She was also a semi-finalist in the Queen Elizabeth Competition in 2009. De Maeyer has made award winning CD recordings as a soloist, such as with the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Concert tours have taken her to Europe, the USA, Canada and South Africa. Since 2018 she has already been a professor at the Fontys Conservatory in Tilburg.
