Mozarteum appoints alumnus Thomas Reif as professor for violin

The Mozarteum University in Salzburg has appointed Eisler alumnus Thomas Reif as professor for violin starting with the winter semester 2021/22. Thomas Reif completed his master's degree in 2018 and his concert exam in 2020 at the Eisler with Prof. Stephan Picard. He is a sought-after soloist, concertmaster and chamber musician, since 2018 1st coordinated concertmaster in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Thomas Reif has received several international awards, including the Federal President's Prize at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University Competition in Berlin and was a prizewinner at the International Mozart Competitions in Salzburg and Augsburg as well as Laureate at the International Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2015.
