Department C - Wind, Percussion, Conducting, Correpetition

General Information

Our courses in wind and percussion instruments cover artistic studies in flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba and percussion. Alongside private lessons in the core subject and correpetition, students take subjects in the areas of methodology, music theory and ear training as well as musicology. Through numerous projects in chamber music, in the school orchestra, the Echo Ensemble and in the “Eisler Winds” series, students gain practice-oriented experience in their areas of study. Piano lessons and participation in the school choir, theory of physiological and psychological aspects of musicianship and practice, and key competencies in related fields (legal studies, self management, promotion) complete the training. During the course, focus may be placed on chamber music, orchestra or education.

Our courses in Correpetition, Orchestra Conducting and Choir Conducting provide a comprehensive artistic and methodical training, complemented by a high degree of practical project work. In addition to private lessons in the core subject and score reading, not to mention intensive project work with school ensembles, the course is further comprised of music theory, ear training, counterpoint, voice training, analysis, instrumentation and musicology. The Correpetition course places great emphasis on training for opera correpetition as well as instrumental and vocal correpepetition. Intensive piano lessons, Italian, direction projects and essential knowledge of the physiological and psychological aspects of musicianship and practice, as well as career path support (legal studies, self management, promotion) complete the training.
